Paula Blasi, MPH, is enthusiastic about conducting research that can make a difference in the health of her community. Her research interests include preventive medicine, health promotion, health communication, and the social determinants of health. Paula works with the Kaiser Permanente Research Affiliates Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC) on systematic evidence reviews of clinical preventive services for the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force, and completes rapid literature reviews for Kaiser Permanente Washington Health Research Institute (KPWHRI)’s Learning Health System Program. Paula also conducts qualitative research with patient and provider populations.
Paula earned a Master of Public Health (MPH) at the University of Washington, in the Community-Oriented Public Health Practice (COPHP) program. She completed her master’s capstone project with the YWCA, where she conducted a community health needs assessment focused on birth outcomes in King County. Paula also evaluated access to care for Medicaid beneficiaries during a practicum at Public Health—Seattle & King County. Before joining KPWHRI, Paula was a writer and editor at the Advisory Board Company, a health care research and consulting firm in Washington, DC.
